Hello Lon, Thank you for your follow up email. Yes, overall I was very satisfied with service received and my advisor, but I have some comments. First, unrelated to service, I purchased the serviced vehicle from Vatland Honda, and my son purchased his from Vatland too. Although I referred my son to Vatland, I never received the referral bonus; but despite that, my vehicle has predominately been serviced by Vatland. Up until this visit, my service advisor had been Jarrod Jenkins, who I liked and learned to trust as my trusted advisor. I heard he is still with Honda pursuing a management position-which is terrific for him, and I'm excited for him. He's a good man. OK, now for my service comments: 1. Generally speaking, dealer service pricing is higher than independent shops which is why I appreciate the 10% discount I received on some maintenance services; so I thank you and John for that. Every little bit helps and I don't take it for granted. 2. Cabin air filter replacement: This is my most constructive feedback. The cabin air filter was identified in the multi point inspection as an item that should be replaced. The filter was already out of the vehicle as part of the inspection and Honda wanted ~$70, part and labor to replace. The old part was reinserted as I didn't authorize the part and labor cost to replace. This doesn't make good business sense. Why not just charge a customer the cost of the filter, no labor (Vatland parts price is at least MRSP) to replace it; that would be a win -win. As an FYI, I purchased a OEM Honda cabin filter for $29.52 including tax, and shipping and installed it in 10 minutes. No tools required. I would have paid Vatland for the part at MSRP. 3. CC fee: I received an email from Vatland with a reminder of my upcoming service appointment and excerpt from it regarding credit card payments: We also wanted to inform you that if your payment for any repairs or maintenance is made using a debit card, cash, or check, there will be no additional 3% surcharge that is typically applied when using a credit card. This way, you can save on extra fees and manage your expenses more efficiently I think this can be better worded. When I first "skimmed it, what caught my eye was: there will be no additional 3% surcharge that is typically applied when using a credit card. Oh, that's nice, a loyalty discount? After rereading it, I got it. But why not just be succinct? Ok, more than you wanted and expected but I do like you guys and wanted to provide some feedback. Oh, I did respond most favorably to the Honda survey as I have done so in the past. Advise of any questions. Thank you.
