Tire Rotations 101
Why Do I Need To Rotate My Tires?
Look at the bottom of your tennis shoes. You will see that each shoe has a wear pattern; these wear patterns begin the first time you wear these shoes. As time goes on, these wear patterns eventually become worse and make your feet hurt to the point that you buy new ones and throw the old shoes away.
The same holds true for the tires on your car. Unlike shoes, tires can be rotated to another location on your vehicle. Tires work differently, depending upon the location on the car. In each of these locations, the wear patterns are different. Rotating the tires on a regular basis will even the wear on each individual tire.
Every vehicle and every vehicle owner is different in that individual driving conditions and individual drivers affect tire wear. At Vatland Honda, we recommend that you rotate your tires every time you get your oil changed (approximately 4,000 to 7,000 miles depending upon your driving habits).
