To see how the 2016 Honda Odyssey stacks up against the Nissan Quest minivan, continue reading below!

Cargo Capacity

If you will be transporting up to seven passengers in your new minivan, then you certainly will need lots of space for their bags, luggage, and other belongings. Thankfully the 2016 Honda Odyssey has cargo space galore -- or up to 148.5 cubic feet, to be exact! Standard cargo volume, meaning when all seven seats are in the upright position, is rated at 38.4 cubic feet in the Odyssey, compared to a mere 25.7 in the Nissan Quest. When you fold down the rear seats of both minivans, you will find that the Odyssey's maximum cargo volume of 148.5 cubic feet eclipses that of the Quest, which provides just 108.4 cubic feet. The 2016 Honda Odyssey offers many advantages over Nissan's Quest, but cargo capacity is clearly one of the aspects where this comparison is not even close!

Passenger Space

Minivans are all about transporting your family, friends, or loved ones from point A to point B in comfort, and the seven-passenger 2016 Honda Odyssey is well-equipped to do just that. When comparing the dimensions of the 2016 Odyssey with the Quest minivan, you will find that the Honda tops the Nissan in second-row and third-row legroom, front and second-row hip room, as well as in second-row shoulder room. In other words, Honda's Odyssey offers its passengers more room to stretch out and relax. If the comfort and personal space of your passengers matter to you, then choose the 2016 Honda Odyssey as your family's next minivan.

Standard Highway Fuel Economy

Minivans are some of the best family road trip vehicles around, and if you are in the market for a new minivan, you will want to check out the Honda Odyssey. The new Odyssey makes for the perfect road trip minivan because of its excellent highway fuel economy. Thanks to its 3.5-liter V6 engine, connected to an efficient automatic transmission and powering the front wheels, the 2016 Odyssey minivan achieves an impressive EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 28 mpg on the highway. That compares very favorably to its rival from Nissan, the Quest minivan, which only manages to return an EPA-estimated 27 highway mpg rating. While one mpg difference may not seem like a lot over a short freeway stint, the more highway cruising you do in your Odyssey, the more money in fuel costs you will be saving over drivers who chose Nissan's Quest. The 2016 Odyssey's oversized, 21-gallon fuel capacity is also one-gallon greater than what you will get with the Quest, which means that you can travel further one one tank of gas if you choose the Honda. If you are looking for the ultimate road trip minivan, then look no further than Honda's 2016 Odyssey!

Standard Torque

Torque may not be the first thing that comes to mind when looking into new minivans, but you will be glad that you have a little extra power when you need it. When your minivan is loaded down with passengers and cargo, you will want to have the power and confidence to maneuver through traffic safely, and that is where torque comes into play. Honda's 3.5-liter V6 in the Odyssey develops ten lb.-ft. of torque more than the Nissan Quest's 3.5-liter V6, meaning that the Odyssey is better prepared for hectic daily driving, as well as for hauling kids and cargo around town. For more torque and capability, choose the 2016 Honda Odyssey minivan.

Standard Features

If you are looking for a new minivan that comes nicely equipped in standard base trim, then look no further than the 2016 Honda Odyssey. Standard on every 2016 Odyssey is Honda's innovative Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with Guidelines, which gives drivers a better view of what is behind the vehicle, thanks to its three different angles: normal, top-down, and wide. Nissan, meanwhile, does not even offer its Quest minivan in base trim with a basic one-angle rearview camera. And while Electronic Parking Assist is optional on the Odyssey base model, Nissan does not offer this feature as an optional upgrade on the standard Quest model. In addition to its lack of standard rearview camera, the Quest also falls further behind the Honda by not providing some of the Odyssey's other standard features, like its power driver's seat, floor mats, anti-theft stereo, and seatback storage. You would have to upgrade if you would like those features added to a Nissan Quest, which means a heftier price tag for your new minivan. Other popular standard features on the 2016 Honda Odyssey minivan include:

  • 6-Speed Automatic Transmission
  • Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®)
  • Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control
